I had a really good time doing these pictures for Daniel and Kylee, mostly because Daniel is my brother and I am very excited for him and Kylee. She is wonderful for him and he is very lucky to have found someone so amazing, and perfect for him. They are a great couple, and you can see the fun and love they have in these pictures.

I am excited to do the wedding photos for them in just under a month! Thank you again you two for asking me to do these for you! Enjoy this preview of their Engagement photos:

So, I actually did this wedding back in July, but I was so busy during that time that I completely neglected updating my blog. I plan on doing a post for all my previous weddings this year, started with this one.

This was the second wedding I have done for the Chrismans! I did Lauren’s wedding back in 2011 and I absolutely loved working with this family, so when Marla, Lauren’s mother, sent me a message asking me if I would want to come down to Albuquerque to do Rebekah’s wedding, I was overjoyed!

Rebakah and Ethan were great to work with! They are both very photogenic and have awesome personalities! I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed creating them!

We will start with Bridals, taken the day before the wedding So many good shots of this beautiful bride! Enjoy:

Now formals:

We will start with a couple images of Lauren’s beautiful daughter, Paisley:

Now the couple:

And now the Reception:

Thank you again to the Chrisman’s and Ethan and Rebekah for asking me to do the pictures! You are wonderful clients!

Its been far too long since I have updated my blog and I figured this was a great set of pictures to use for it! I had a wonderful session with this amazing couple up above Sundance in Provo Canyon! These two are very photo-genic and fun to be with! I’m so excited for their wedding day!

This last one was done using a method called the Brenizer method. This is a breif explanation of what that is: “Essentially it is the same concept used by landscape photographers known as panorama stitching except instead of stitching a bunch of horizontal shots together to form a wide image, the images are horizontally and vertically stitched to create a wide and tall image not unlike a square. And because you are stitching together many files, you are creating a very high resolution image that can hold up to very large print sizes without loss in quality. By shooting at a very shallow depth-of-field (DOF) and then stitching the shots together, you’re exaggerating the shallow DOF.” To read more, visit: http://blog.buiphotos.com/2009/07/the-brenizer-method-explained-with-directions/

Thanks again to Brady and Kayleigh for asking me to do the pictures for you! Can’t wait for the formals!

Every year I love to enter my work into the local contests here in Utah to see how I do. This year was my first time entering into the Utah County fair. I entered 3 images and I was pleasantly surprised with the results. I was able to take the first place position on all 3 images and Also was awarded the “Best Of Show” award, which was a first for me and I was very excited to receive!

The Utah State Fair also returned some success. I was awarded First Place in the Professional Wedding Category for the 2nd year in a row! I was ecstatic about that award! 2 Years in a row! Very happy! Below are the images that I entered and the awards written above:

I had a great time with Scott and Lisa up Provo canyon doing their engagement photos! They are fun, and great to work with. It was snowing like crazy, so we ventured out in the cold and I think it was totally worth it because we got some great shots!

Yes, that is a snow man in the background! 🙂 Someone was kind enough to make it right in the middle of the bridge!

Thanks again to Scott and Lisa!

I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to photograph Rachel and Chase at Temple Square with the Christmas lights! This was one of the 5 weddings I was able to do and definitely one of my favorites so far! It was so cold, and the rain was coming at us horizontally, but it was very much worth it for the images we were able to get! Rachel and Chase were great to work with and I loved that they were willing to risk the warmth a little to get these! Here are a few from the night:

I’ve been quite busy the past couple months and have done some really fun weddings and have been able to work with some truly amazing people! One couple I had the privilege of working with was Kaylie and Michael! Here are a few images from their wedding:

This was a same day edit on most of these images so that I could get them ready to print for the reception which was the next day. I really enjoyed working with Kaylie and Michael. They both have awesome personalities and are very good looking, which makes my job so much easier 🙂 Here are a few more of them:

I would like to say thank you to Kaylie’s parents, Shanna and Layne, for hiring me and letting me part of the special day!

I have recently had the opportunity to work with a great Videographer named David Perry during a wedding I did a couple weeks ago. He is amazing at what he does and I absolutely love his videos. The video he did for the wedding I shot was awesome. I of course looked up his work, although I had seen it before I hadn’t relized it was the same person. I am going to share a video that he did that brings the spirit of our savior with it. It has the spirit of love, the spirit of family. It perfectly demonstrates the joy I feel as I photograph and capture the memories on such beautiful occasions.

Brandon & Karina’s Trailer from David Perry on Vimeo.

David Perry is a great videographer. If I had the chance to do my wedding over again, I would of course hire a professional photographer that could capture all the details of the day, and I would hire a videographer like David Perry. To see more of his work visit his site, http://davidperryfilms.com. And of course to see more of my work visit www.ldsphotographer.com.

Thanks for reading. I truly love what I do and I hope to soon be a part of your special day!

So I had thought about entering the state fair for quite sometime this year but kept putting it off, especially once August hit and I was so busy with weddings. But I hurried in on the last day with 2 prints and entered them into the contest. It was a rushed day because I also had a wedding and was actually on my way to the wedding when I dropped off the images. It was a bit tight time wise to get everything done and on time but I did and I am glad I did!

I entered 2 images, one into the Professional Wedding Category and the other, a family portrait, into the Professional Group Portraits. Here are the 2 images:

1st place award in Professional Wedding Photography!
1st Place. Professional Wedding Photography

3rd place overall in Professional Group Portraits!
3rd place overall in the Professional Portraits!

I didn’t even expect to place, as it was my first time and I was competing against some pretty amazing veteran photographers. I was very excited when I went on the first day and saw that I had not only placed, but received the first place award in the wedding category! I was also quite happy about the 3rd place award in the group portraits!

There was a lot of tough competition in both categories and many great looking images by wonderful photographers. I am very grateful that I took the time to enter! I exceeded my own expecations, that is for sure! If you haven’t had time to go up and see the images at the state fair, I would put it on the schedule! Over 1700 entries this year! Many wonderful images to see! The fair ends on the 16th so hurry up there!

And As always, thanks for reading! to see more of my work, visit www.ldsphotographer.com.
